MHSAA Division 2 wrestling quarterfinals

The No. 6-seeded Niles wrestling team advanced to the Division 2 state semifinals at McGuirk Arena on the campus of Central Michigan University with a 36-26 victory over No. 3-seeded St. John’s Friday night. For the fourth time in five years, the Niles wrestling team will compete in the Division 2 state quarterfinals. The Vikings are 3-0 in previous quarterfinal appearances. Niles defeated Tecumseh in 2013, Byron Center in 2014 and Tecumseh again in 2015. The Vikings are 0-3 in the state semifinals after falling to Eaton Rapids 30-27

Niles wrestlers win Division 2 regional title

The Niles wrestling team defeated Mattawan and Coldwater to win their fourth Division 2 regional title in the last five years. The Vikings will now compete in the state quarterfinals at McGuirk Arena on the campus of Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant on Feb. 24.

Niles advances 11 to Division 2 regional

THREE RIVERS — The Niles wrestling team advanced 11 wrestlers to the Division 2 regional tournament Saturday in Eaton Rapids, including four individual champions.
