Niles Vikings Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 10-0 loss to Lakeshore on District Monday. The game was postponed due to weather from Saturday. Lakeshore scored on a double by Jared Evans and a single by Oli Carmody in the first inning.

The Niles Vikings Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Lakeshore, giving up ten runs.

Lakeshore opened up scoring in the first inning, when Evans doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

A single by Cole Simpson in the first inning was a positive for Niles Vikings Varsity.

Brandon Rath was the winning pitcher for Lakeshore. He went five innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out two and walking zero.

Simpson took the loss for Niles Vikings Varsity. He lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and ten runs while striking out five.

Ethan Alkire, Simpson, and Mason Waggoner each collected one hit to lead Niles Vikings Varsity.

Lakeshore went on to defeat Edwardsburg for the District Title on Saturday.
