The Niles Varsity Volleyball Team fell to Brandywine tonight 26-24, 22-25, 20-25, and 16-25. Brandywine has excellent, aggressive hitters. We knew that going in and have to be able to match their offense by bringing the same aggressive power from our side of the net. Getting balanced kills throughout all of our rotations has been our number one area of focus in practice throughout the season. We are working on hitter confidence and finding the right chemistry of hitters who can produce kills in any situation and against any opponent. We usually have two to three hitters producing kills, and our goal is to have four to six, so that when a game gets tight, we can always score. We dealt with the same issue at Bronson on Saturday. We have some veteran players blended with younger players, and we are still working hard to find consistent, offensive prowess as a unit. We will get there, but it takes time, work, and confidence. We will continue to work hard and head back to practice tomorrow, get swinging, and focused preparing for Portage Northern Wednesday evening for senior night. Niles is now 17-17-4.
