Niles Vikings Varsity Takes A Tough Blow From Portage Northern

Niles Vikings Varsity struggled to get their offense going on Monday, getting easily dispatched by Portage Northern, 17-3.

Niles Vikings Varsity scored three runs in the fifth inning. Taylor Young and Alexis Rauch each drove in runs during the inning.

Portage Northern scored eight runs in the fifth inning. Portage Northern offense in the inning was led by A Bobbio, J Clomon, Z Quinn, S Swinehert, A Griffison, and J Wisaw, all driving in runs in the frame.

Bobbio pitched Portage Northern to victory. The pitcher went five innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out eight.

Chloe Hargreaves took the loss for Niles Vikings Varsity. The righthander lasted one and one-third innings, allowing five hits and eight runs.
