Reese Davies wasted no opportunities at the plate on Saturday, driving in five on three hits to lead Niles Vikings Varsity past South Bend St. Joseph 9-2 on Saturday. Davies drove in runs on a double in the fourth and a grand slam in the seventh.
Niles Vikings Varsity tallied four runs in the seventh inning. Davies had an RBI grand slam in the inning to lead the run scoring.
Brooke Timm earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for Niles Vikings Varsity. She surrendered two runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out five and walking one.
Kennedy Swope took the loss for South Bend St. Joseph. She went seven innings, allowing nine runs on 15 hits, striking out four and walking zero.
