Mya Throws Shutout As Niles Vikings Varsity Defeats Sagatuck

Mya Syson threw a shutout to lead Niles Vikings Varsity past Sagatuck 16-0 on Saturday.

Taylor Young collected four hits in four at bats to help lead Niles Vikings Varsity to victory. Young singled in the first, homered in the second, singled in the third, and singled in the fourth.

Niles Vikings Varsity got on the board in the first inning. Niles Vikings Varsity scored one run when Young singled.

Niles Vikings Varsity tallied seven runs in the third inning. Young, Syson, Amira Lee, and Annabelle Johnson each had RBIs in the frame.

One bright spot for Sagatuck was a single by H Walker in the fourth inning.

Syson was credited with the victory for Niles Vikings Varsity. The pitcher went four innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out nine and walking zero.

A Knickelbine took the loss for Sagatuck. The bulldog lasted four innings, allowing 15 hits and 16 runs while striking out three.

Niles Vikings Varsity launched two home runs on the day. Johnson went deep in the third inning. Young put one out in the second inning.

Walker went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Sagatuck in hits. Sagatuck was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. H Gombas had the most chances in the field with four.
