With Mya On The Mound, Niles Vikings Varsity Shuts Out Holland

Mya Syson shut down Holland, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Niles Vikings Varsity to a 19-0 victory on Saturday

Taylor Young collected four hits in five at bats to help lead Niles Vikings Varsity to victory. Young singled in the third, tripled in the fourth, singled in the sixth, and homered in the sixth.

Niles Vikings Varsity got things moving in the first inning. Ashlynn Wilken’s sac fly scored one run for Niles Vikings Varsity.

Niles Vikings Varsity tallied 12 runs in the sixth inning. Niles Vikings Varsity put the pressure on, lead by singles by Young, Wilken, Syson, Chloe Hargreaves, and Bailey Bickel, a triple by Alexis Rauch, and a home run by Young.

One bright spot for Holland was a single by J Rodrigiez in the first inning.

Syson led the Niles Vikings Varsity to victory in the circle. The righty lasted six innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out 13 and walking zero.

M Fisher took the loss for Holland. The pitcher surrendered 19 runs on 25 hits over six innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Niles Vikings Varsity smacked one home run on the day. Young put one out in the sixth inning.
