Visiting Niles continued their recent shooting struggles with a 45-32 loss at St Joe.
Niles missed their first 6 shots and fell behind 9-0 to start the game and was down 13 but scrapped back to tie the game ar 22 going into halftime.
Niles held St Joe to 9 third quarter points but only scored one point. The Vikings were undone by 3-17 second half shooting to go along with 10 turnovers. Niles also shot 4-9 from the free three line in the second half, missing the front end of multiple one and one opportunities. The Vikings gave themselves seuveral opportunities to get back in the game but could not put the ball in the basket, including a crucial stretch in the third quarter where they missed back to back uncontested lay ups and a free throw.
Senior Robert Brown had 10 points and 4 rebounds . Juniors Austin Brookins with 7 and Jordan Brown with 5 and sophomore Nate Goins with 6 accounted for most of the scoring. Senior Kendall Whitelow played well off the bench.
The Vikings have now dropped three straight after a 3-1 start. Bikes is home on Tuesday vs. a red hot Dowagiac team.
