The 8th Grade Boys Basketball team had a great showing at the Middle School Hoops Tournament hosted at St Joe High School. We appreciate St Joe for putting on such a great experience for all of our players. The tournament is always a highlight for our season.

Game 1 – Coloma. Niles jumped out to a quick start behind the play of Grayson Dulworth. Niles lead at half 27-14. Niles had a great 3rd quarter scoring 14 more times. Everyone saw the floor and contributed to a great team win. The final score was 44-14.

Jevon Jankoviak – 1 Point
Corey Maust – 2 Points
Max Henderson – 3 Points
Isaiah Stephens – 5 Points
Nathan Watkins – 7 Points
Antwone Whitelow – 8 Points
Grayson Dulworth – 18 Points

Game 2 – Berrien Springs. For the second game of the day, Niles played a very athletic Berrien Springs team. Niles played strong offensively and defensively in the first half. They moved to ball around to get open shots against a zone defense. Niles lead 23-16 at half. After half, Niles struggled to rebound and score offensively (2 in the 3rd Quarter). Niles took a 4 point lead into the third, 25-24. Niles was outscored 12 to 8 in the fourth and lost the contest 36-33.

Overall, I am very pleased with the progress that the team has made this season. We continue to put ourselves in situations to be successful. Our hard work and determination will pay off.
