Meet our staff of Lakeland Athletic Trainers:

We would like to introduce you to the Lakeland Athletic Training program. Lakeland Physical Therapy has been contracting athletic training services to local high schools and Lake Michigan College since 1983. This service has provided thousands of athletes quality care in prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, conditioning and education of athletic injuries. Our staff of Athletic Trainers has dedicated themselves to these student-athletes and their endeavors on and off the field. We are pleased to continue this service for your student-athlete once again this year.

While each school is assigned a primary Athletic Trainer, it is possible that you and your son/daughter will have contact with any of our ATs from Lakeland Orthopedic Physical Therapy. Our current list of schools we cover includes: Buchanan, Bridgman, Berrien Springs, Lakeshore, St. Joseph, Coloma, Watervliet, Lake Michigan Catholic and Lake Michigan College. What happens if my son or daughter gets injured?

You will see Bob Taylor five days a week at your school throughout the school year. Although game coverage is a decision mutually agreed upon by your Athletic Director and the Athletic Trainer, Bob is at most home events and travels with varsity football.

If an injury occurs at a time when the AT is not present, please contact Bob through your coach, athletic director or Lakeland Rehabilitation Center at the Niles YMCA (683-6800) or email him at: rtaylor@lakelandhealth.org.

Should your son or daughter be seen by a physician and is prescribed physical therapy, we will be happy to assist with scheduling that appointment with one of our experienced group of Physical Therapists, all with expertise in orthopedic injuries. Having your physical therapy provided by Lakeland Rehabilitation Center in Niles helps complete the continuity of care between the Athletic Trainer, Physical Therapist, the Physician and you.
