Late Score Costs Niles Vikings Varsity Against Stevensville Lakeshore
Monday’s game against Stevensville Lakeshore was a heartbreaker for Niles Vikings Varsity, as they lost the lead late in a 2-1 defeat. The game was tied at one with Stevensville Lakeshore batting in the top of the eighth when Max Gaishin singled off of Bryce Lake, driving in one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Stevensville Lakeshore pitchers struck out five, while Niles Vikings Varsity sat down six.
Niles Vikings Varsity evened things up at one in the bottom of the sixth inning. Austin Curran doubled on a 2-0 count in the sixth inning, scoring one run.

Drew Huffman started the game for Niles Vikings Varsity. He went seven innings, giving up one run, four hits, and striking out six. Tyler Mojsiejenko started the game for Stevensville Lakeshore. He pitched seven innings, giving up one run, six hits, and striking out four.
Jacob Hamm led Niles Vikings Varsity with two hits in three at bats. Niles Vikings Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Tayton Stevens had the most chances in the field with seven.
