Niles Vikings Varsity Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over Stevensville Lakeshore
Niles Vikings Varsity jumped out to an early lead over Stevensville Lakeshore and took home a 5-2 victory on Monday. Niles Vikings Varsity scored on a single by Austin Curran in the first inning, a single by Jake Lalone in the second inning, and a groundout by Drew Huffman in the second inning.
Stevensville Lakeshore took an early lead in the first inning. Tyler Mojsiejenko grounded out, scoring one run.
Niles Vikings Varsity took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Jake Lalone singled off of Lucas Meyer, driving in one run, Bryce Lake hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run, and Meyer induced Drew Huffman to ground out, but one run scored.
Jakob Huffman earned the win for Niles Vikings Varsity. He threw seven innings, allowing two runs, five hits, striking out two, and walking one. Meyer took the loss for Stevensville Lakeshore. He went six innings, allowing five runs, six hits, striking out two, and walking one.
Dawson Clemens led Niles Vikings Varsity with two hits in three at bats.
